Voting begins for Moe's Dead Ringer contest

Moe's Southwest Grill launched its Dead Ringer contest Jan. 15 with the intent to take Moe's rock-n-roll image to the next level.
More than 5,000 people attempted to enter Moe's Dead Ringer contest, and on April 19 Moe's announced the top 50 and opened the site for voting. Visitors may vote for as many photos as they'd like one time per day until May 1. On May 5, Moe's will announce the winners.
On Jan. 15, Moe's invited anyone who looks like a dead rock star to visitwww.BEaDEADringer.comand enter the Dead Ringer contest for a chance to win $1,000, free burritos for a year and an invitation to Atlanta for a photo shoot. The photos will be turned into artwork to be hung at more than 400 Moe's locations.
"It wasn't easy picking our Top 50," said Joel Bulger, vice president of marketing for Moe's Southwest Grill, in a news release. "Now we leave it in the hands of our fans to pick the faces that will become the new artwork at Moe's."
The Dead Ringer Web site also has a Rock Your Face feature which allows visitors to put their faces on those of rock stars from a variety of musical genres and share the images with friends via e-mail and social Web sites.
The Moe's Dead Ringer promotion also features exclusive merchandise with proceeds going to a good cause. Moe's will donate all proceeds of Dead Ringer t-shirts and Moe's guitar picks purchased to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore instrumental music programs in public schools.
