The impossible has just become a reality as The Impossible Burger, mimicking the consistency, taste and versatility of a burger, but yet made from plants, will debut March 2 at Bareburger's flagship outlet near New York University.
"My first taste of the Impossible Burger was a surreal moment: a burger that was delicious, simple, clean and sustainable? I couldn't believe it," Euripides Pelekanos, Bareburger CEO and co-founder, said in a press release. "I know this may sound cheesy, but I truly believe serving the Impossible Burger at Bareburger will help make the world a better place."
The Impossible Burger is a $13.99 entrée or available as a customizable dish with a variety of toppings.
"Our mission is to make delicious, nutritious and affordable food for everyone — in a way that is sustainable and scalable," Impossible Foods CEO and Founder Patrick O. Brown, said in the release. "Bareburger is a great partner for us because we're both growing fast. We can learn from each other and from our customers -- and I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun."
The Impossible Burger has no artificial flavors, antibiotics or hormones and uses 75 percent less water and 95 percent land than cows.
