SEATTLE, May 11 /PRNewswire/-- Open wide, Boise. Big, fresh, mouthwatering tacos and burritos are coming your way this week with the Thursday opening of Boise's first Taco Del Mar store, located at 13613 W. McMillan Road at Eagle. More locations in Ada County are following this year. Todd Hicks, a Challis, Idaho native and a past Subway franchise owner, is Master Developer for Taco Del Mar's Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Eastern Washington region. He also owns and operates Boise's first store. Hicks may soon be regarded as the man who proliferated Taco Del Mar locations at all points between Spokane, Wash., and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with franchise inquiries following each new store. "Understanding Taco Del Mar is really a 'look and feel and taste' thing," Hicks said. "We just opened the first Spokane store and immediately after our first few days the phones lit up with people interested in franchising. The same thing is going to happen in Boise." The company noses in rippin' fish tacos and mondo burritos, its well-substantiated claim to fame. Franchisees are attracted to not only the food, but also to low startup fees, a fresh, quick service restaurant (QSR) model, and a protected sales territory. The forecast for this surf-inspired concept? Swell. Started in 1992 in Seattle, Wash., Taco Del Mar has been growing rapidly throughout the Western states and has been well received by consumers hungry for freshly made food served with a side mantra of "Release your inner Baja," the company tag line. Jumping onto the wave of Taco Del Mar stores comes the second location at the corner of State Street and Highway 55, opening this summer by franchisees Steve and Leona Hicks. The couple currently own three Subway stores and have strategically placed their Taco Del Mar store near a Home Depot and Winco. With the help of Dave Winder and Guy Byrd of Byrd Real Estate, tenant finalization is underway for two additional Taco Del Mar stores: downtown on 8th Street, just three blocks from Boise High, and a Meridian location on Franklin Street. Hicks is following up on franchisee inquiries and promises more units throughout Boise will follow. "The company's master developer system is the franchising method of choice with QSRs such as Subway and Quizno's," Neal Hollingsworth, Vice President of Franchise Sales and Marketing said. "Taco Del Mar start up costs are also extremely affordable, plus the food and experience that we offer compare to nothing else out there; people are responding to it and the stores keep opening." A fresh-tasting menu, a vibrant beach shack store image and the brand experience make the Taco Del Mar mix unique and memorable to consumers.
