Starbucks' volunteer effort gets Oprah boost

Advertising Age: Starbucks' campaign to promote volunteerism got recognition Jan. 21 from Oprah Winfrey — and by extension, Barack Obama. The talk-show host talked up the company's "I'm In" campaign which encourages consumers to pledge five hours of community service before the end of the year.
