Starbucks stepping up African coffee purchases

Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Starbucks is planning to double the amount of coffee it buys from East African countries over the next two years and fund aid programs for coffee farmers, the company announced. The coffee giant is in the midst of a dispute with the Ethiopian government, which is seeking to trademark the names of coffee produced in that country.
