Starbucks officially launches record label

LOS ANGELES — Starbucks and Concord Music Group announced today the formation of a new Hear Music record label.
The company will be based in Los Angeles, with Ken Lombard, president of Starbucks Entertainment serving as chief manager. He will work with Concord Music Group president Glen Barros on the day-to-day activities of the venture.
Starbucks Entertainment and Concord Music Group's past collaborations include Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company," and Sergio Mendes' "Timeless".
The Hear Music brand has been used on Starbucks proprietary compilation CDs since 1999.
