Star Burger partners with University of Miami Athletics

The announcement follows the opening of the fast-casual concept's 2,750-square-foot flagship location at 4901 SW Eighth St. in Miami, located near the university campus.

To commemorate the multi-year deal, Star Burger debuted the Canes Burger, a permanent addition to its menu. The double-stacked burger features 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef smash patties sourced directly from the Estrella family's Mt. Pleasant ranch.

Designed to reflect team colors, the burger has aged cheddar, a crispy tostón round representing orange, and a custom house-made Cat 5 pesto sauce providing green.

Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney contributed feedback during the creation of the signature item.

"Partnering with University of Miami Athletics is an honor for our family, and we wanted to give it something more than a name on a menu board," Joey Estrella, president of Star Burger, said in a company press release. "This burger will be here long after the season ends."

Founded in 2026 by the Estrella family, the fast-casual brand takes its name from "Estrella," the Spanish word for star. The Miami venue features indoor seating alongside a 750-square-foot covered terrace overlooking Coral Gables.
