Sandy Springs, Georgia-based Smalls Sliders will make its college-campus debut with openings at the University of Central Florida in September and the University of Mississippi in October.
The UCF restaurant replaces a former Chick-fil-Alocation near the school's Recreation and Wellness Center and will feature a traditional dining room. The Ole Miss location will be inside the university's basketball arena.
The openings are part of Smalls Sliders' strategy to expand into nontraditional, high-traffic locations, according to the company.
"Smalls Sliders' focused menu and streamlined operations translate well to high-traffic environments, while the energy of the brand fits naturally within campus culture," Chief Development Officer Ryan Curmley said in a press release.
The company said the two locations demonstrate how the brand can adapt its footprint to different environments while maintaining its menu and operating model.
Smalls Sliders has more than 55 locations and additional restaurants in development across 30 states. The brand is seeking experienced, multi-brand franchisees for further expansion.
