Red Mango has named Barry M. Barron Sr. as its new CEO, replacing Joe Vitrano at the company's helm. Red Mango founder Dan Kim will stay on as chief concept officer, his current role.
Barron most recently served as chief operating officer of ACE Cash Express, where he grew the chain from 700 to 1,800 locations. He also spent six years leading Papa John's International efforts and 10 years at Pizza Hut Inc.
Red Mango has 132 locations and has positioned itself over the past several years as a leader in the frozen yogurt category. It opened its first U.S. location in 2007 in Los Angeles.
"When our guests walk through the door, they immediately feel the difference. From the upscale decor, to the healthy, innovative line of products to the active online fan base, Red Mango is a company that understands its strengths and truly differentiates itself from other concepts," Barron said. "And because those elements are firmly in place, now is the perfect time to accelerate the company's growth on both national and international levels."
