Quiznos cans Baby Bob, starts new campaign

June 4, 2006

DENVER — Quiznos introduced a new marketing campaign, called "Eat Up," with the goal of giving consumers what they want every day. With this new campaign, the sub chain is saying goodbye to Baby Bob, the talking baby who served as the public face of Quiznos advertising since January 2005.

According to a news release, the new campaign kicks off with the introduction of a new menu offering, Flatbread Chopped Salads. With Baby Bob out of the picture, advertising for the new branding campaign is encouraging consumers to "Eat Up," urging them not only to enjoy food, but to enjoy a higher quality of food.

Quiznos chief concept officer Tom Ryan said Quiznos is the only national chain catering to the 'everyday foodie.'

"We are ideally positioned to give consumers what they want. This is the driving concept behind 'Eat Up,'" he said.

Quiznos is offering four Flatbread Chopped Salad combinations: Roasted Chicken with Honey Mustard, Classic Cobb, Chicken Caesar and Antipasto. Metal forks will be served with the salad at all locations, the release said.
