Panda Express supports charities with plush panda bear sales

ROSEMEAD, Calif. — Panda Express is selling plush panda bears to raise funds for the American Red Cross and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Panda Express officials expect the proceeds to reach $100,000. The bears will be available at participating Panda Express locations in L.A. County and surrounding cities, beginning Feb. 8 with any purchase, while supplies last.
The bear costs $4.99 and 60 percent will go to the charities, according to a news release.The news release said this is one of many philanthropic efforts parent-company Panda Restaurant Group has supported. The company's charitable donations surpassed $1 million in 2005.
