Newk's Eatery has opened its second Wichita, Kansas, restaurant, expanding its local presence just 10 months after its first location debuted.

Franchisees Melody Matulewic and Scott Hatchett opened the 3,500-square-foot restaurant Oct. 5 on the city's west side at 3905 N. Ridge Road. Their first Wichita location is on the east side.

Matulewic said in a press release that the team plans to open additional Newk's restaurants in and around Wichita.

"Wichita has been a great example of the kind of momentum we're seeing across the Newk's system," Chris Elliott, CEO of parent company FSC Franchise Co., said in a press release.

Newk's, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is approaching 100 locations across 12 states and is seeking experienced franchise partners.
