My Maki lets patrons make their own sushi

January 30, 2011

My Maki has opened its first location in New York City between Third and Lexington avenues. My Maki is a build-your-own sushi concept with an ordering process similar to Chipotle and Subway, where customers can pick ingredients as they move through the queue.

The sushi is prepared in an assembly-line format with designated rice, protein, vegetable and texture/sauce stations. Customers have the ability to select from an array of traditional sushi items such as tuna, salmon, avocado and cucumber; and non-traditional items such as chicken, sundried tomato, potato sticks and mandarin orange pieces.

The restaurant also offers a number of side dishes such as edamame with sea salt and lime, calamari salad and Vietnamese tuna ceviche.

My Maki will be open seven days a week and offers a full catering menu.
