Opening marked with Boys and Girls Club fundraiser
McAlister's Deli will open its first location in Carlsbad, N.M., with franchise group Southwest Deli on May 12. To celebrate, the restaurant will donate all tips collected within the first month to the local Boys and Girls Club.
"We feel confident that the local community will enjoy our great line of soups, salads, sandwiches and spuds, as well McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea," Larry Lee, owner of Southwest Deli, said in a news release.
Southwest Deli currently operates 16 McAlister's restaurants in Texas and New Mexico. The group has a development plan in place for four states, including continued growth in Texas and New Mexico, as well as new territories in Utah and Idaho. In addition to Carlsbad, Southwest Deli opened restaurants in Abilene and Andrews, Texas, in the first quarter of 2014 with plans to open four additional locations this year.
