Pita Pit USA 4.0 Inc. has named industry veteran John Csukor as chief executive officer, replacing Peter Riggs, who is now chairman.
Csukor, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, brings more than 38 years of restaurant and foodservice leadership experience to the Mediterranean-inspired franchise. His background spans culinary development, operations, marketing strategy, and global food innovation.
"Pita Pit USA has an incredible foundation and a loyal following built around fresh ingredients and customization," Csukor said in a company press release. "There is tremendous opportunity ahead to continue evolving the menu, explore more Mediterranean-inspired flavors, support our franchisees at a higher level, and create an even better experience for our guests."
Prior to joining Pita Pit USA, Csukor served as CEO and chief marketing officer of KOR Food Innovation, an international restaurant development agency. His career also includes roles with Starbucks and as vice president of culinary at Entrega North America. Notably, Csukor helped spearhead the global rollout of Starbucks' hot food program across 9,500 cafes in 2005.
As CEO of U.S. operations, Csukor will focus on updating store operations, refining build-out options, increasing profitability, and strengthening franchisee partnerships while exploring new expansion opportunities.
"Having spent my career focused on business, marketing and culinary development, I see this brand as a solid foundation for growth," Csukor said. "I'm thrilled to bring a contemporary vision for where the brand can go while staying true to what has always made Pita Pit special — fresh food and bold flavors."
Founded in 1995, the broader Pita Pit brand operates locations across multiple countries. Pita Pit USA 4.0 Inc. serves as the parent company for all franchise locations within the U.S. and its territories.
