Freebirds to collect for Habitat for Humanity
January 17, 2007
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Freebirds World Burrito, the Texas-based fast casual known for its Monster burritos, announced a four-week fund-raising campaign to help support Habitat for Humanity.
In adhering to the company's motto, "It's not normal", collections are being made through a customer participatory activity called the Bird Drop Game. The initial campaign will run Jan. 15 through Feb. 11, in Freebirds' 16 Texas locations.
The Bird Drop Game involves dropping a quarter, dime, nickel or penny into a fish bowl. The object of the game is to land the coin in the cup. A successful drop will result in a free Freebirds meal. Freebirds will collect all the coins and donate the money to each location's local Habitat for Humanity.
