FREEBIRDS opens latest California unit

FREEBIRDS World Burrito has announced its opening in Elk Grove, Calif., bringing the number of locations in California to 14. To celebrate, FREEBIRDS will give the first 25 guests in line free burritos for a year.

In the days leading up to the opening, FREEBIRDS and its charitable arm, World Works, conducted the following pre-opening events:

  • May 11: FREEBIRDS Elk Grove partnered with Project R.I.D.E. from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The first 250 guests during each time slot received complimentary food and drinks in exchange for a minimum $5 donation to Project R.I.D.E.
  • May 12: FREEBIRDS Elk Grove partnered with the Elk Grove Food Bank from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The first 250 guests at each time slot received complimentary food and drinks in exchange for a minimum $5 donation to the Elk Grove Food Bank.

The new location employs approximately 60 team members from the local community. Including Elk Grove, concept owner Tavistock Restaurants LLC operates 71 FREEBIRDS throughout Texas, California and Oklahoma.
