Freebirds World Burrito customers can now purchase their favorite dishes via a mobile app rolled out in June. Available for download from the Google Play Store or the App Store, this app allows guests to submit a mobile order for pickup, keep track of orders, re-order their favorite entrees, purchase gift cards, pay through stored mobile gift cards and engage with an interactive rewards loyalty program known as All Access Rewards, said Erin Lezvow, VP of Marketing.
"The new Freebirds app is shaping up to be very successful," she said. "With the ability to pay in-app, order quickly in-app and earn and redeem points, it has allowed our guests to have everything just a click away.
She said the Freebirds' All Access Rewards is not a typical restaurant "stamp-per-purchase" rewards card.
"It allows our guests to move up tiered levels and unlock surprise-and-delight options throughout their journey with Freebirds. On top of that, they also earn one point for every dollar spent," she said. "As we expand to other markets, we are excited that we will also introduce a way to make it convenient for our new guests to order and go."
Time to go digital
One thing the brand prides itself on is listening to its guests, said Lezvow, which was the reasoning behind the upgrade.
"Our Fanatic card program was good, but we knew we could do great," she said. "Guests wanted a convenient way to order from wherever, and walk in to pick up. We also wanted to create a system where we were able to reach and reward our loyal guests."
Users receive one point for every dollar spent, and all users can then earn great rewards, such as food, swag, and one-of-kind experiences like a menu item named after the customer.
Freebirds partnered with Punchh to create a mobile engagement experience for its customers. Punchh partnered with NuOrder to build the native ordering platform, which means it was specifically developed for the Freebirds application and allows guests to earn points for ordering on the mobile app, according to the release.
Lezvowwill discuss the company's mobile strategy today at the Connect Mobile Innovation Summit in Chicago.
