Earl of Sandwich has opened a permanent restaurant in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort after operating from temporary locations for several years.
The 8,000-square-foot restaurant is the largest in the chain's history. An official grand opening ceremony is scheduled for July 15 and is expected to include Luke Montagu, the 12th Earl of Sandwich and a descendant of the family traditionally credited with originating the sandwich.
The two-story restaurant features several new dining concepts, including The Carvery, a carving station serving sliced pastrami; The Pub, which offers beer, wine, frozen cocktails and seasonal beverages; and an expanded bakery. According to Disneyland Resort, the building's second floor will eventually house Gordon Ramsay's Carnaby, a British gastropub.
The original Earl of Sandwich operated near the former ESPN Zone and AMC Theatres at Disneyland Resort from 2012 to 2022 before the building was demolished for redevelopment. The restaurant later relocated to the former La Brea Bakery building and also operated from a temporary trailer near the Star Wars Trading Post before moving into its permanent location.
The Earl of Sandwich is headquartered in Orlando and operates 33 locations worldwide.
