Chipotle rolls out group ordering solution

February 14, 2010

Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced a solution to group ordering called Burritos by the Box, a streamlined system to placing bulk orders. The new ordering system allows customers to place an order of six burritos or more at one time by order form.

"We serve half a million hungry people a day and an ordering system to cater to large groups and organizations can make it more convenient for many of them," founder, chairman and co-CEO, Steve Ells said in a news release. "Burritos by the Box enable us to continue to serve food made with the freshest ingredients from more sustainable sources, while providing a convenient way to better serve our customers."

By logging onto Chipotle's Web site, customers can download the Burritos by the Box order form. Orders are accepted via fax and telephone. Burritos by the Box also include bags of chips, sides of sour cream, freshly-made guacamole and medium green salsa.

Customers can add additional side items to the order by request, including extra, chips and guacamole, salsa or a drink. The burritos come packaged and labeled in a box with handles on each side offering easy transport. Orders are available for pick-up at a local Chipotle restaurant and prices vary per location.
