Canadian fast casual launches Web contest

October 9, 2006

CALGARY, Canada — Joey's Only, a Canada-based seafood fast casual, is launching its first national online consumer contest. The macro Web site, where customers can play, is eclub.joeysonline.ca/contest.

According to a news release, consumers can win a stay at the Painter's Lodge, a picturesque resort in Campbell River, B.C. The resort is known for its world-class salmon fishing, and wildlife and nature tours.

The contest runs through Nov. 19.

"We are excited to kick off our Go Coastal — reel in the Flavours of Canada promotion," said Kathy Flynn, vice president of marketing. "The Internet is a part of everyday life for Canadians. It was time for us to connect nationally with new audiences using the Internet, to inform them about Canada's largest seafood restaurant and invite them to win trips to Painter's Lodge."

Flynn said Joey's is introducing four new seafood menu items and one dessert item during the contest.

Joey's is promoting the contest through spots on Deja View and Lonestar TV stations and online at Canada.com to drive traffic to the site. The seafood restaurant is advertising in various Canadian magazines, too.
