California Tortilla launches script-writing contest

June 29, 2009

ROCKVILLE, Md. — California Tortilla will launch a radio campaign this summer to celebrate its Washingtonian Magazine rank as Washington, D.C.'s, Best Burrito.

The East Coast chain will have their customers pitch-in by submitting commercial scripts on why the restaurant won the award. The top three commercial writers will receive cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 respectively, along with free burritos for an entire year.

"Since our customers voted California Tortilla the Best Burrito, we thought they would be the best people to convey why we deserved to win," said director of marketing Stacey Kane. "It is another way for us to engage our loyal fans."

Customers may submit 15- and 30-second scripts via Facebook and e-mail.

All entries must be submitted by July 7, 2009, and the radio campaign runs during the weeks of July 13 and 20. Scripts are subject to editing and radio play is not a guaranteed prize for the winning script.
