California Tortilla in effort to save Superman landmark

WASHINGTON D.C. — Fast casual chain California Tortilla has partnered with bestselling author Brad Meltzer launch his new philanthropic website,www.ordinarypeoplechangetheworld.com. Meltzer formed the organization to raise money for the restoration and preservation of the Cleveland home of the late Jerry Siegel, creator of Superman.
Meltzer will hold a book signing in Washington, D.C., at Politics and Prose, 5015 Connecticut Ave. NW, on Sept. 4, 2008, at 7 p.m. to support his latest novel, "The Book of Lies." California Tortilla will sell raffle tickets at the event with a grand prize of a year's supply of burritos. All money raised will go to the charity.
In addition to the raffle, anyone who buys Meltzer's new book will get to spin California Tortilla's "Monday Mystery Prize Wheel" for a chance to win free and discounted food.
Customers at all 38 California Tortilla locations can also enter into a drawing to receive a free copy of Meltzer's book. When a customer makes a purchase and swipes their online-activated Burrito Elitio customer rewards card, they will be entered into a drawing for that store. Each store will draw one winner.
