California Tortilla donates to Make-A-Wish

August 20, 2008

ROCKVILLE, Md. — East Coast fast casual chain California Tortilla has donated 4,000 Kids' Meals, valued at $20,000, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic as part of their celebration for winning the "Best Casual Restaurant for Kids" Readers' Choice Poll in the July issue of Washingtonian Magazine.

On July 15, California Tortilla gave away nearly 4,000 free Kids' Meals to children 10 and under at the company's 37 restaurants, and pledged to donate a Kids' Meal coupon to Make-A-Wish for each meal given away.

Officials presented the coupons to the charity on Aug. 18 in a ceremony at their Rockville location. The Foundation will use the meal coupons for a variety of upcoming programs, including wish fulfillments and an upcoming Kids' Triathlon.

In addition to the Kids Friendly award, California Tortilla also won the "Great Place for Vegetarian Food" award.
