Boston Market Corporation has named Sara Rosenberg Bittorf as chief brand officer. Bittorf, who most recently served as vice president of marketing for Carrabba's Italian Grill, will begin her new role on April 9, and will report directly to CEO George Michel.
The newly established role comes at an exciting time as the company recently reported 17 consecutive months of increased comp sales. Boston Market attributes the sales success to a 2011 nationwide rollout of upgrades and new menu items designed to enhance the guest experience. Improvements included the replacement of disposable plates and utensils with real plates and stainlessware, and upgraded serving stations in most locations that include a Chef's Hot Case and carving stations.
"Boston Market is a leading brand in the restaurant industry," said Bittorf. "In my new role, I intend to help Boston Market find new ways to leverage its brand power and to help amplify the great work the company is already doing."
Bittorf proved to be an invaluable asset to Carrabba's and to the Burger King Corporation, where she worked for 12 years. Her body of work also includes Carnival Cruise Lines, Miami Herald Media Company and Diageo PLC, where she worked with brands such as Pillsbury, Guinness, United Distillers and Vintners.
