Al-enabled drive-thru technology 'redefining the ordering experience'

July 27, 2018

Conversational AI producers at Clinc used a video of the world's most indecisive drive-thru customer to show how its AI-powered restaurant drive-thru and in-store kiosk ordering experience works. The self-service ordering system is designed to boost speed of service and order accuracy, which a news release said are two of the biggest complaints from customers around fast food dining.

Clinic CEO Jason Mars said the system, designed to handle the most convoluted orders, not only eliminates ordering mishaps but also condenses the time elapsed between when an order is placed and when food is handed off.

"Customers all too often have to repeat their order today with humans. Clinc's tech beats that," Mars said in the release. "Using a completely new type of AI technology we're redefining the ordering experience and giving consumers convenience and control while getting restaurant service even quicker."

The company creates conversational AI tools that operate through digital in-store kiosks, drive-thrus, mobile apps, Alexa, Google Home and others. The company's AI extracts context and intent from human interactions and can understand, remember and respond to a lot of information from a single utterance in any language and dialect.

The systems allows for order customizations, substitutions, changes, payment and even requests for meal suggestions. Clinc is a global provider of conversational artificial intelligence technologies for financial institutions, aside from this new foray into fast food service.
