Açaí Republic selects Square platform to support franchise growth

April 27, 2026

Açaí Republic, headquartered in Tustin, California, has selected San Francisco-based Squareas its commerce platform.

The brand is known for its Brazilian-style açaí bowls and juices, and is implementing the Square ecosystem to streamline growth, improve operational consistency, and enhance the customer experience across its 36 locations in Arizona, California, Florida and Hawaii, as well as eight planned units.

The platform includes Square for Franchises, Square Register, and Square Terminal.

"Quick-service restaurants are inherently complex businesses, and franchising adds another layer of coordination across operators, systems, and customer experiences," James Schonzeit, Square's head of food and beverage, said in a press release. "Square was built to solve that in a single destination, giving brands like Acai Republic the tools to easily run, innovate, and scale."

The technology's open API platform assists the brand with its operational goals. Instead of relying on third-party vendors, the company uses a custom kiosk solution powered by Square Terminal to process payments.

Square also integrates with Açaí Republic's ordering app, loyalty program, and member-exclusive offers to support and increase customer engagement.

"Square stood out because it aligns what we put on the menu with the technology behind our operations," founder Adriano Nasal said in a press release. "We're able to manage our franchises across states, scale our specialized menu, and ensure the same vibrant experience our customers love at every location."
