Cali toasts new beverage concepts

DRNK coffee + tea and Qwench juice bar are Hollywood-born concepts that have opened in 11 locations.

Californians have a couple new venues to sip tea, coffee and juice. DRNK coffee + tea and Qwench juice bar are Hollywood-born concepts that have recently opened with a combined total of 11 locations, according to a company press release.

DRNK, is an edgy new franchise concept bringing a vibrant and sophisticated swagger to the segment, while offering a distinctive class of coffee and tea products, said Mitch Baker, DRNK and Qwench’s chief marketing officer. He described Qwench as "an innovative and evolutionary response to an emergent food trend focused on fresh ingredients, natural tastes and flavors, elevated nutrition and powerful superfoods."

In addition to serving world class coffee and organic espresso, tea is part of DRNK’s DNA and offers a variety of teas from around the world, Baker said. The DRNK brand has a full line of food with freshly prepared, made-to-order sandwiches and salads and parfaits and differentiates itself with some unique and distinct features like a multi-head tap system dispensing organic cold brew coffees, iced teas and unique beverages like Kombucha.

"No other concept in this space is offering brands combined in one space the way have presented it," Baker said. "This is the true sweet spot, targeting a variety of customer day parts in a proven model that works."

Six DRNK units are open in Southern California, while Qwench has five locations in the Los Angeles area. Two of the stores are co-branded DRNK and Qwench units.

Both brands have launched franchise development efforts globally, Baker said.
