Apparently, the leadership at Captain D's has taken that advice to heart over the last several years. Listening, according to the brand's head chef, Jason Henderson, has been key to the chain's re-emergence as a growing force in the restaurant industry. In fact, just this month, Captain D's reported that it had just closed out the brand's 19th consecutive quarter of same-store sales growth

Not bad for a brand that was teetering on the edge about five or six years ago before its major menu and store renovation program and rebranding. But like we said, the leadership here puts a lot of faith in listening very closely to its customers who apparently know something about seafood, as we found out in an interview with Henderson at this summer's National Restaurant Association annual conference in Chicago.
