Jim Sahene, CEO of Bruster's Ice Cream, is getting ready to celebrate the brand's 25th anniversary in July. To mark the occasion, Bruster's has created a new flavor, called Founder's Reserve and featuring black cherry and chocolate chunk, and is hosting a campaign encouraging guests to take selfies of themselves eating the new ice cream.
Sahene also talked about the company's back-of-the-house operating system, called Boss, that was facilitated by a franchisee hoping to streamline Facebook, Twitter, email, etc. accounts to "make his life easier." The operating system was created and is used just for Bruster's, he said.
Sahene is also heading up a relatively new Philly Cheesesteak concept called Wit or Witout. The concept recently opened its third store and has sold its first two franchisees.
