Zoes Kitchen, a Mediterranean fast casual concept, has created a recipe book — Fresh Takes — with 10 quick and easy recipes compiled by a taskforce of dietitians, moms and culinarians, according to a company press release.
It includes recipes, such as Breakfast Hash, Marinated Slaw Chicken Stir Fry, Salmon with Orzo and Spinach and Quinoa Burgers, which are loaded with nutrient-rich ingredients that have made the Mediterranean diet popular with families and dietitians alike, said contributor and registered dietitian Sarah-Jane Bedwell. Designed to make healthful family meals easy to prepare, each recipe begins with a take-home side from Zoes Fresh Takes tubs to go, such as Hummus, Potato Salad or Orzo Tabouli, and shows how to quickly add a few ingredients to create cravable meal solutions in minutes.
"Every Zoes Fresh Takes selection is handmade and features fresh-from-the-garden, real ingredients — no chemicals or preservatives — so these recipes are not only delicious and wholesome, but they simplify mealtime and optimize family time," Bedwell said. "This recipe book can help busy families kick off healthier eating habits for 2014."
Along with Bedwell, a health enthusiast and blogger for SELF Magazine, three others shared their favorite recipes:
"I'm a mom of four and life can get crazy, but I hate compromising what I feed my kids," said Zoes Kitchen's VP of Marketing Rachel Phillips-Luther. "I put two and two together when I realized that many busy moms like me don't always have time to start from scratch, but Zoes can help get meals started the right way."
Zoes Fresh Takes recipe books are available in each Zoes Kitchen restaurant, online at www.zoesfreshtakes.com or by clicking for a free download.
Zoes invites guests to create and pin their favorite Fresh Takes recipe on Pinterest for a chance to win a KitchenAid stand mixer, a $500 Zoes Kitchen gift card and a custom, one-of-a-kind Zoes apron.
