Zaxby's launches TV, FB promo

Zaxby's is asking guests to join in on the Big Zax Snak Meal online debate asking whether it's a meal or a snack. The chain has teamed up with NFL linebacker Clay Matthews to kick off the conversation in the chain's ongoing "indescribably good" ad campaign. Matthews makes a play for the signature menu item in two TV commercials that began airing this week.

"The Big Zax Snak Meal combines all of Zaxby's signature menu items," said Zach McLeroy, CEO and co-founder of Zaxby's. "From the Chicken Fingerz to the Zax Sauce, these signature flavors are what Zaxby's guests have come to love for more than 20 years."

Offering an assortment of intriguing flavor combinations for guests, the Big Zax Snak Meal combines Chicken Fingerz with Crinkle Fries, Texas Toast, Zax Sauce and a 22-ounce beverage.

Zaxby's is encouraging guests to take part in the discussion by picking a side at votebigzax.com. Guests who vote online and then share on Twitter using the hashtags #TeamSnak or #TeamMeal will have the opportunity to win a specialized Big Zax Snak Meal T-shirt. They can also receive ongoing updates on this promotion and other Zaxby's news from the company's Twitter handle @Zaxbys.

Matthews, known for his signature blond locks and strong defense for the Green Bay Packers, emphasizes how, once discovered, good things tend to catch on. The TV spots are airing in 47 markets throughout the chain's 13-state operating area. Keeping with tradition, Zaxby's more than 500,000 Facebook fans received an exclusive look at the spots prior to TV broadcast at facebook.com/zaxbys.
