Wingstop breaks 2008 store-openings record

DALLAS — Wingstop president and CEO James A. Flynn has announced that the chain opened a record 71 stores during 2008, bringing the total number of units to 397.
The company also achieved its 22nd consecutive quarter of a same-store sales increase.
The successive increase for the fourth quarter of 2008 was 4.2 percent and for the year was up 6.5 percent over 2007. Systemwide sales for 2008 were $255 million, up 23.6 percent from 2007 sales of $206 million.
