Wingstop and Troy Aikman ink new deal

June 4, 2006

DALLAS – Troy Aikman, three-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame inductee, has extended his contract as Wingstop's official spokesperson. Aikman originally signed on as Wingstop's national spokesperson in October 2003.

According to a news release, the new three-year partnership will feature Aikman in print, outdoor, radio and television ads, as well as in special event appearances. Since Aikman partnered with Wingstop, the organization has experienced 11 consecutive quarters of comparable-store sales increases.

"Our partnership with Troy has surpassed all of our original goals," said James Flynn, Wingstop president and chief executive. "He is a natural fit for Wingstop and his national appeal has contributed to Wingstop's rapid growth as a national brand. We have more than doubled the number of stores we've opened since Troy became our spokesperson three years ago and look forward to continuing to grow together."

Aikman's connection with Wingstop began as a regular customer at the Valley Ranch location near Texas Stadium, where he played for the Dallas Cowboys.

"Wingstop is a brand I've known and loved for years," Aikman said. "Growing with them has been exciting and I'm looking forward to our next three years together.  It's true when I say, 'I'm Wingstop's No. 1 fan.'"
