Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest days of the year for many restaurants, and two brands in particular plan on record sales of one food item: wings. While the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots battle on the football field, Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings will try to "out wing"each other.
Wingstop expects to sell almost 12 million wings and has prioritized technology and digital ordering to capitalize on expectations, according to a news release. Wingstop customers can place advance orders, which adds to the chain's projected 100-percent sales increase on Super Bowl Sunday.
Buffalo Wild Wings is taking a slightly different approach. The company is running a 30-second ad featuring Brett Favre and a Snapchat geo filter to capitalize on the Super Bowl's massive exposure, according to a company press release. The concept will also interact with fans on social media and offer special promotions to celebrate.
