What the flan? Starbucks intros new latte

January 8, 2014

Flan is on the menu at Starbucks. The coffee giant is now serving a Caramel Flan Latte and is also selling new flavors of its VIA Lattes in stores across the U.S. and Canada.

The Caramel Flan Latte is available for a limited time and combines Starbucks' signature Espresso Roast, steamed milk and flan flavored syrup, topped with a caramel infused whipped cream and a soft layer of caramelized sugar drizzle. Based on positive customer feedback as part of a regional offering last year, Caramel Flan Latte is now available to customers nationwide and can be ordered hot, iced or as a Frappuccino blended beverage, according to a company press release.

Also new this winter are Starbucks VIA Vanilla Latte and Caffè Mocha, inspired by the two popular handcrafted Starbucks beverages, now available in retail stores. Fans can simply add water to the product, according to the release.

Starbucks VIA Lattes are available at participating Starbucks locations in the U.S. and Canada and on starbucksstore.com with nationwide grocery availability by spring.

Guatemala Casi Cielo back for limited time

Returning for its 10th season is Guatemala Casi Cielo coffee, meaning "almost heaven," a rich and elegant coffee with smooth, balancing lemony acidity and hints of dark cocoa, according to the company. The coffees that make up Guatemala Casi Cielo were selected from the Antigua region of Guatemala because they deliver the finest the region has to offer. The Antigua Valley is one of the most renowned areas in the world for production of high-quality coffee.

This coffee is available for a limited-time in whole bean, K-Cup packs and Verismo pods at participating Starbucks retail stores and at Starbucksstore.com.
