Wahlburgers has signed an agreement with Cachet Hospitality Group to soon open restaurants in the Chinese cities of Hangzhou, Wuhan and Shanghai, according to a press release. In fact, Cachet made deals with World Packaging Center in Hangzhou, Naked Hub in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and Big Ho Corporation in Thailand to open a total of 100 Walhburgers locations.
Wahlburgers founders, Paul, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg announced the Asian expansion at a Hollywood press conference with burgers for all in attendance.
"This combines perfectly with the explosive popularity of international restaurant brands in China's malls and airports, opening the door to tremendous opportunity for Wahlburgers and our Asia Pacific joint venture," Cachet Hospitality Group CEO Alexander Mirza said, in the news release.
Wahlburgers CEO Rick Vanzura added to that expression of confidence in the brand, saying, "Thanks to Cachet, we already have our first confirmed restaurant projects outside of North America, and we look forward to making history together," according to the news release.
Cachet partner and investor, The Arjomand Group, is also involved in the expansion. The release said the firm will add experience and financial support to the growth plan.
