Verts Mediterranean Grill announces 2nd name change

After changing its name in 2016, from Vertskebap to Verts Mediterranean Grill, the chain announced this week that it's trying on another identity — Noon Mediterranean.

Michael Heyne, co-founder and co-CEO said the name reflects the company's commitment to Mediterranean flavors, made-in-house recipes and a desire to push culinary boundaries.

"Noon is the brand Dominik (Stein) and I have always wanted to create," he said in a company press release. "Six years ago, Dominik and I were two college students who saw an opportunity to offer flavorful Mediterranean food to our community. Holding true to that commitment to flavor, we've evolved our food and concept but kept our vision. Noon reflects who we have become and the inspiring recipes we want to serve. This feels right."

Guests will find the same food options as before with an added emphasis on authenticity and quality prepared by Culinary Director Kate Schirm, co-founder and co-CEO Dominik Stein said in the release.

"Noon is now a time and place," Stein said. "Noon is a place for our guests to treat themselves from lunch to dinner with real food made by real people. Aside from its obvious connection to lunchtime, the word 'Noon' has a playful connection to food in that it means bread in Farsi."

The Mediterranean restaurant is transitioning signage and decor to the new branding over the next several few months.
