Vegans scream for ice cream at Nekter

Nekter Juice is hoping to hit the vegan sweet spot with four limited-edition flavors of dairy-free ice cream. Each is inspired by childhood favorites, said Steve Schulze, co-founder and CEO.

"It's better than ice cream," he said in the release. "Better for you, better tasting, and you'll feel better after eating it. It's a healthier way to cheat." 

Flavors include:

• Monster Cookie Dough: Blue Spirulina gives the treat its bright blue hue, and it also has chunks of vegan cookie dough and vegan chocolate chips complemented by sweet and aromatic Madagascar vanilla, coconut milk and a touch of agave nectar.
• Peanut Butter Swirl,includes peanut butter swirls among layers of vegan chocolate, coconut milk, Madagascar vanilla, agave nectar and a pinch of sea salt.
• Orange Twist,a tropical and refreshing twist on a summertime flavor, it blends coconut milk with tangerines, Madagascar vanilla and a hint of agave nectar.
• Chocolate Haze, a mash-up of cocoa, hazelnut butter, cashew milk, peanut butter, coconut sugar, agave nectar and a dash of sea salt

Watermelon season is back
Nekter has also brought back its watermelon options, which include the Watermelon Cooler Juice and the Watermelon Berry Smoothie. Both are on the menu until Sept. 9.
 
Nekter Juice Bar was founded in 2010, and now has more than 100 units.
