Vapiano inks Mass. franchise deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Vapiano has announced it has secured its first agreement in Massachusetts for the development of three Vapiano restaurants in the greater Boston area. The first location is expected to open in early 2009.

Vapiano has grown from a single unit to 31 locations in three years. Many of the chain's restaurants can be found throughout Germany and in European markets such as Zurich, Switzerland; Vienna, Austria; Istanbul, Turkey; and Budapest, Hungary.

The company has three corporate-owned locations in the United States and franchised units in development in cities such as Dallas; Naples, Fla.; and Boston.
