Uncle Maddio's Pizza is continuing its expansion in the Northeast and opened its first Maryland restaurant in Frederick. Owned by local franchise partners Doug Sellers and Kane Wright, the newest Uncle Maddio's is located at 5597 Spectrum Dr., across from the Francis Scott Key Mall. Wright and Sellers have signed on to open 10 Uncle Maddio's locations throughout the greater Washington, D.C., area, making them one of the largest Uncle Maddio's franchisees, according to a company press release.

"From the moment I experienced Uncle Maddio's I thought it was the best-tasting pizza I had ever had and I knew I wanted to open a restaurant," Wright said. "I can't wait to introduce Uncle Maddio’s to the Frederick community, and I hope they love it as much as I do."

The Maryland franchise partners are experienced restaurant operators and previously owned a Golden Corral franchise. The next two Uncle Maddio's openings are planned for Richmond and Charlottesville, Virginia, for dates to be determined.

"Uncle Maddio's is growing at an exceptional pace and we are looking for significant investments with franchise partners like Kane and Doug," said Matt Andrew, CEO of Uncle Maddio's. "We are excited to bring Uncle Maddio's pizza to Maryland, Virginia and throughout the Washington, DC and Baltimore region."

Since launching its growth plan in 2008, Uncle Maddio's has signed franchise agreements with 57 entities in 18 states, and is on track to have 300 restaurants open in five years with 1,000 units in development, the release stated.

Uncle Maddio's Pizza currently has 40 locations in 13 states.
