Tropical Smoothie to partner with Camp Sunshine

DESTIN, Fla. — Tropical Smoothie Café welcomes the start of summer with its second annual National Flip Flop Day celebration. On June 21, the first 500 customers who come in to any of the chain's 275 locations wearing flip flops will receive a free 24-ounce Jetty Punch smoothie.
New this year, Tropical Smoothie Cafe also has announced a charity partnership with Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Funds raised from May 23 through June 21 at each Tropical Smoothie Café will be used to sponsor a family or families residing in the restaurants' local communities. Additionally, the funds will be used to cover family travels to and from Camp Sunshine for Tropical Smoothie Café week, August 3-7, 2008, as well as camp scholarships and construction and capital improvements of the camp.
Located in Casco, Maine, Camp Sunshine provides a retreat for children and their families coping with life-threatening illnesses. Since 1984, Camp Sunshine has offered recreational, medical and counseling services at no cost to more than 16,000 individuals.
