Tropical Smoothie Café has partnered with FoodLogiQ, a food safety, traceability and sustainability Software as a Service company, to help the chain with its food safety and traceability initiatives, according to a company press release.

"Today's consumer is very intrigued about what is in their food and beverages — the nutritional content, the ingredients, where it comes from, and more. At Tropical Smoothie Cafe we offer our guests bold, innovative products with a better-for you-twist,"  said Mike Rotondo, CEO of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. "Working with FoodLogiQ, we will be able to provide complete information they want about our ingredients."

Using FoodLogiQ's Connect platform, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will track all food and beverage items being served in its nearly 435 locations. Tracing food from suppliers to each restaurant allows Rotondo to keep track of each product served, while enabling each location to act quickly if an issue comes up with product quality or safety, according to the press release.

Other FoodLogiQ customers include Whole Foods, Chipotle, Subway, Robinson Fresh, the National Potato Council and Golden State Foods, according to the release.
