Tropical Smoothie Café sends couple to Greek Isles

DESTIN, Fla. — Tropical Smoothie Café has announced the winner of its online sweepstakes celebrating the DVD release of the movie Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.
In partnership with Universal Studios, Tropical Smoothie Café's ‘Mamma Mia Greek Giveaway' promotion lasted from Dec. 1, 2008, to Feb. 28, 2009, and had more than 16,000 online entrants vying for an opportunity to win a free vacation for two to Greece and the Greek Isles where the movie was filmed.
Sweepstakes winner Donna Kumpula, 50, of Negaunee, Mich., and her long-time boyfriend Greg Peterson, 49, will spend eight days and seven nights in several exotic Greek locations including a VIP tour of the islands Skiathos and Skopelos as well as two nights in Athens, Greece. Kumpula has until February 2010 to travel but said they are tentatively planning to go sometime between late August and early October this year.
The couple will receive a private transfer from Athens to the Constantine Pier and board a one-way flying catamaran by sea to the island of Skiathos and then ride a ferry to Skopelos, both popular tourist destinations in the Sporades Islands chain. Breakfasts will be included as the couple stay in a sea view room during four nights at the Skiathos Princess Hotel and two nights at the Skopelos Village Hotel. Kumpula and Peterson will spend their final two nights at the Ledra Marriott Hotel in Athens.
The online sweepstakes hosted by Tropical Smoothie Café has an approximate retail value of $12,000. Tropical Smoothie Café also included a coupon for one free smoothie in each DVD sold during the promotion period.
