Timothy's World Coffee has opened its first U.S. location at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Timothy's café holdings were acquired by Bruegger's Enterprises Inc. in 2009.
The new unit's opening comes as Vermont-based Bruegger's and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Threecaf Brands, plan a significant expansion.
"Bruegger's existing operating infrastructure allows us to bring this famous Canadian brand to the U.S.," said Jim Greco, CEO of Bruegger's Enterprises Inc. "We are confident that the American consumer will appreciate the quality and variety of coffee choices featured at Timothy's World Coffee."
Bruegger's success in the Cleveland market, coupled with a strong local operating partner and the recognized need for premium coffee, makes the city and the airport location an ideal fit for a foray into the United States.
Timothy's features a wide selection of more than 30 premium blends, including mild, medium and strong roasts, flavored and ethical coffees and a variety of specialty coffees made exclusively from 100 percent Rainforest Alliance-certified espresso. All coffees may be paired with a sweet treat or savory snack from Timothy's broad menu selection of bakery items and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.
Timothy's plans on opening two more U.S. locations in the coming months, in West Roxbury, Mass. and St. Paul, Minn.
"Timothy's has carved out a distinctive position in the market as being the global coffee experts," said Greco. "We are confident this will resonate with an American consumer base that demands high quality and choice when it comes to coffee and their coffee preferences."
Timothy's has been around since 1975. Threecaf Brands operates, manages and licenses nearly 140 units in Canada, including Timothy's World Coffee, mmmuffins and Michel's Bakery Café.
