Tijuana Flats opens eco-minded store

February 3, 2010

Tijuana Flats' new location in Lauderhill, Fla., has implemented numerous cost-reducing, eco-friendly initiatives such as the installation of a natural gas tankless water heater. The new natural gas technology heats water on demand — rather than storing and reheating water in a tank.
Additional green modifications include LED lights, an energy management system (EMS) hood, a solar-powered timer, an Energy Star-rated steamer and low-flow toilets. Tijuana Flats also plans to continue implementing environmentally responsible products and practices in future stores.

The Florida Natural Gas Association (FNGA), a non-profit organization, promotes and encourages the growth of the natural gas industry in the state of Florida. It also seeks to protect the interests of the industry, its members and consumers.
