The Melt is expanding for the first time outside of California into Colorado, according to a recent press release. It opened one location, with four additional openings in the Denver area by the end of 2015.
The Melt selected Colorado as its first out-of-state market, according to the report, because the state is on the cutting edge of a movement called the "better-for-you" movement, something The Melt supported since the restaurant’s inception.
"Since The Melt opened its first restaurant in San Francisco, we've been focused on fulfilling our founding mission of providing better food for our kids, creating jobs and delivering happiness to each and every guest," The Melt Founder and CEO Jonathan Kaplan said in the report. "Expansion into Colorado is a first and exciting step in The Melt's long-term plans for continued growth. We're excited to become a part of the Colorado community and look forward to welcoming Colorado guests to our restaurants."
