The Gyro Shack brings 'Opa!' to Nampa

The Gyro Shack will open a Nampa, Idaho, location late this summer on Caldwell Boulevard, bringing a little bit of Greek to the Boise suburbs, a news release said. The location, operated by Franchisee Sean Kress, will feature indoor seating and a drive-thru window.

The Boise-based chain's sixth location in that metro area is an outgrowth of the chain founded by the local Zaharioudakis family. As owner and operator of the Nampa store, Kress brings more than 18 years of experience in retail to the chain.

"We know locals will be hooked the first time they try our fresh, imaginative menu," The Gyro Shack Vice President of Operations and Development Seth Brink, said in the release. "We can't wait to hear Nampa yell 'Opa!'"

Gyro offerings in Nampa location include everything from traditional spit-carved gyros to the less standard BLT and the Spicy Bacon Avocado varieties. The chain also offers an assortment of vegetarian-centered options, including a veggie gyro, Greek salad, and hummus and pita, along with tzatziki and spicy green sauces.

The chain started as a food truck and two restaurants in former coffee drive-thru kiosks, but today has a total of six locations, with expansion in the works.
