Tennessee woman sues Starbucks over coffee spill

Knoxville News Sentinel: Jordan Triplett is suing the Seattle-based coffee company for $250,000 over first-degree burns she received from a cup of coffee. Triplett alleges that the lid wasn't secure on the cup she was handed at the drive-thru window.
When she contacted Starbucks about the incident, the company offered her a gift certificate instead of restitution for her medical bills, according to the lawsuit.
