Taco Del Mar awards 'Grad Bucks' this graduation season

June 10, 2010

Taco Del Mar, a fast casual Mexican restaurant chain featuring Baja beach-style burritos and fish tacos, is honoring 2010 graduates throughout the United States this year with Taco Del Mar "Grad Bucks." From June 21 - June 27, 2010, graduates are encouraged to bring their 2010 tassel into any Taco Del Mar or Del Mar's location and get "Grad Bucks" worth $2 toward the purchase of any menu item, including popular choices like the Mondo and Mondito burritos, fish tacos and enchilada-taco platters.

The "Grad Bucks" certificate can be redeemed during the month of July, when Taco Del Mar will also introduce a new menu selection: crispy shrimp with spicy chipotle sour cream, only available for a limited time this summer.

"We're proud of the nation's graduates and wanted to congratulate them on this important accomplishment," said Elizabeth Andreini, CMO, Taco Del Mar Franchising Corp. "It's our gesture of support and encouragement as graduates move on to the next phase of their lives, be it more school, a job, travel or a break. We're thrilled to participate in celebrating this exciting time and honoring the hard work of so many."

"Grad Bucks" are the non-cash equivalent of $2 and are redeemable at all Taco Del Mar and Del Mar's locations from July 1st through July 31st, 2010. Every Taco Del Mar and Del Mar's store nationwide will be giving away a total of 500 "Grad Bucks," one per customer, to tassel-toting 2010 graduates on a first-come, first-serve basis during regular store hours.

Earlier this year, Taco Del Mar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
